Printmaking Exhibition comes to Ithaca
A new printmaking exhibition is coming to Ithaca. Printmaker Julianne Hunter will be presenting her work in Ghost Collective
Her prints are inspired by the community. The concept she looks to display through her work is presented in a way that keeps people connected during Covid despite having to socially distance..
She uses various materials to create her one-of-a-kind artwork. She used manmade materials such as floor mats, fishing tacks, and denim
Hunter wanted to use items from every day to show people how closely connected they are despite not interacting. She refers to people as ghosts in the exhibition.
“I've been collecting evidence of the presence of other people without them necessarily being there so the floor mats seem like this kind of perfect way to show the idea because so many people have walked on the floor mats and left traces of themselves,” she said.
Hunter's work will be on display from February 11-17th. For more information on the exhibition, click the link.
