CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- Business owner Jennifer Tiffany hosted two successful workshops to celebrate expanding next door this afternoon in Corning.

Pixie Moss Meadows is a trendy garden shop that opened last May. Despite being fairly new, Tiffany decided to expand her business. A vacant space opened up Jan. 15, giving her the perfect opportunity to start developing a space for workshops.

Tiffany felt like it was the right time to make her dreams a reality. She wanted to give back to the community by offering classes and workshops that would be focused on plant-based activities.

Today, Tiffany was surprised to see both her first-ever morning and afternoon sessions sell out completely.

“I had this idea of a garden bar where people could come and create their own little, magical gardens and it's become really popular and we needed a little more space,” she said. “So, I decided to expand a little bit so we can do more workshops and classes.”

Tiffany believes the expansion will greatly benefit her business and the community. She wants to share her knowledge and teach others how to make plant-based creations.

“I think this will help us grow,” she said. “If you have a gift of making these creations...I'd like to share it with others,” she said.

Tiffany says her workshops have become popular and the demand for classes have increased. Every workshop will have a theme.

"Today, we made magical forever forest terrariums,” she said. “I work a lot with succulents, too...we're going to be having a Valentine's Day succulent workshop where a couple or two people can come and make something together.”

Participants learned about plant care while building their very own terrariums. She hopes people walk away with a better appreciation for nature and the environment.

“I think you kind of understand how much plants -- I mean we really couldn't survive without them,” she said. “It's kind of a great experience to learn a little bit more about the forest or to care for plants as well.”

Tiffany says wants these unique workshops to be an unforgettable experience for everyone who takes part.

“I think it's a whole experience and I mean...nowadays everyone can use a bit of whimsy in their life,” she said. “It's something a little bit magical and you leave with something in your heart.”

Pixie Moss Meadows also plans to host a Valentine's Day-themed workshop on February 12th. Click the link to learn more.
