Museum of the Earth kicks off Pay-What-You-Wish weekends in 2022
ITHACA. N.Y. (WENY) - Museum of the Earth kicked off Pay-What-You-Wish weekends in 2022 starting Saturday morning.
During the first weekend of every month, the museum encourages visitors to donate any dollar amount they want. New Year’s Day pushed Pay-What-You-Wish to start the second weekend of this January. Pay-What-You-Wish gives people more financial flexibility to browse exhibits as guests are invited to the museum’s exhibit for free during those weekends.
Donations go towards supporting the museum and its exhibits. Today, the museum received over $100 in donations from visitors. The museum hopes to extend its initiative to the Cayuga Nature Center, set for re-open in late spring.
Museum of the Earth hopes to make Pay-What-You-Wish occur annually through every first weekend of the month. They now look ahead to opening their Six-Legged Science Exhibit on March 28th.
