Arnot Ogden Medical Center Thrift Shop to Reopen
ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- A thrift shop in Elmira is reopening, nearly two years after closing at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Arnot Ogden Medical Center Auxiliary Thrift Shop at 619 Hart Street will reopen to the community for a few days, December 2nd and 3rd. The shop is run by volunteers, who have spent the last few weeks getting organized and ready to reopen.
"We have many many new items, Christmas stuff that is gorgeous, clothes, kitchen things, men's clothes, chlidren's clothes, knickknacks, but many many lovely Christmas decorations, and we will welcome you with open arms, but socially distanced open arms," said Joy Perry, a volunteer at the shop.
Perry went on to say the volunteers have missed the interaction with each other, and their customers during the 20 months the shop was closed. The Arnot Ogden Thrift Shop plans to be open the first Thursday and Friday of each month, from 10AM to 3PM.
