UTV driver killed in Bradford Co. crash

MONROETON, PA (WENY) -- A man was killed after hitting a large truck on Route 220 in Monroeton Thursday afternoon.
According to Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda, 73-year old Vincent J. Sabonis of Bristol, PA, was killed. Troopers say Sabonis was driving a utility task vehicle around 12:15 p.m., when he entered SR 220 from an "improper location" in front of a large truck. The crash happened just north of Kellogg Road.
The truck overturned after hitting the UTV, and the driver was trapped and had to be rescued by the jaws of life. The operator of the UTV, Sabonis, was pronounced dead.
The truck driver was taken to Robert Packer Hospital with "suspected severe injuries".
