CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) – Police arrested an Erwin man on several charges, including robbery and burglary, after two domestic incidents.

Around 10:50 p.m. Monday, members of the Corning Police Department responded to a home on Winfield Street for that reported domestic. Officers located a victim and identified the suspect as 34-year-old Chad Gardner; Chad was not found on scene when officers arrived.

On Tuesday around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a home on Perry Avenue for another reported domestic involving Gardner. Police say Gardner ran from the scene and was later found hiding behind a business; he again ran away from police when he was found. After a brief chase, he was placed under arrest.

Gardner was charged with the following:

  • Robbery 3rd degree – felony
  • Aggravated family offense (2) counts – felony
  • Criminal contempt 1st degree (4) counts - felony
  • Burglary 2nd degree – felony
  • Grand larceny 4th degree -- felony
  • Criminal mischief 4th degree (2) counts –misdemeanor
  • Unlawful imprisonment 2nd degree –misdemeanor
  • Petit larceny –misdemeanor 

He was sent to the Steuben County Jail pending arraignment.
