Mass Vaccination Sites are Downsizing

NEW YORK(WENY)-- Governor Cuomo announced that mass vaccination sites will begin downsizing throughout the state of New York.
This follows a major milestone with 70% of adult New Yorkers receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine; the state will now shift resources to communities where vaccination rates are below the state average. Over the course of weeks and months, many sites will downscale based on demand, proximity to other vaccination sites, and locally focused efforts.
"Our network of mass vaccination sites administered the biggest throughput of vaccinations in a short period of time, and thanks to their success we hit the milestones we needed to hit to get back to life as we know it," Governor Cuomo said.
Downscaling will begin on Monday, June 21st with the closing of sites in Corning, Oneonta, Potsdam and York College.
