6:30 UPDATE: Elmira Police announced the driver, 40-year-old Lawrence Williams, has been arrested. He was wanted in connection to a homicide that happened in the City of Elmira in April. Read more here. 


3:15PM UPDATE: Police on the scene in Wyalusing tell WENY News the chase is over and one person is in custody. The exact location was not provided. We will update this story as soon as more information made available. 


BRADFORD COUNTY, PA (WENY) -- Police agencies from both New York and Pennsylvania are chasing a suspect, in a pursuit that started in Chemung County before crossing state lines into Pennsylvania.

New York State Police were seen pursuing the vehicle through the town of Southport, shortly after 1PM on Friday. The chase continued along Route 427 in Chemung County across the state line into Wilawana, Pennsylvania. The driver eventually made his way to South Waverly, before crossing the median and getting onto Interstate 86 eastbound back in New York, getting off the highway in Nichols and leading police on a pursuit south on Route 282 and Route 187 in Bradford County, leading authorities into Wysox before continuing on to Wyalusing. 

According to scanner reports, several cars were run off the road. Two New York State Police cruisers were damaged at a point during the pursuit in Waverly. At points throughout the chase, law enforcement agencies from the city of Elmira, New York State Police, and Pennsylvania State Police were involved. The vehicle they are chasing is reported to be a black Chevy Malibu with South Carolina plates.
