OWEGO, NY (WENY) -- This week in wine country, sponsored by Finger Lakes Wine Country, WENY's Renata Stiehl and FLWC President Laury Ward, talk with local artist Chris Knickerbocker.

Chris creates works of art under her studio, Old Souls Home, and is a member of the Tioga Arts Trail in Owego. Her artwork is also featured in the studio at the Tioga County Council of the Arts on Front Street in Owego, as well as other locations in New York State.

Recently, Chris was involved with helping Tioga County celebrate the centennial of the Women's Suffrage movement, which recognized the efforts by women to gain the constitutional right to vote in the United States by placing purple, white and gold victory flags throughout the village. Many flags still hang in 2021, on women-owned and women-managed businesses. A number of celebratory events in 2020 had to be canceled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
