Watertown Firefighter Trainee Injured at NYS Fire Academy Passes Away
SAYRE, PA (WENY) -- The upstate New York firefighter injured during training at the state fire academy in Montour Falls has passed away.
Twenty-one year old Peyton Morse had been hospitalized in intensive care at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre since the incident on March 3rd. According to CBS affiliate WWNY, the town of Watertown Fire Chief announced the news today. He was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital after being taken to a local hospital in a state-owned van.
Morse had been attending an 11-week training course at the New York State Academy of Fire Science Training. He suffered a medical emergency while working with a breathing apparatus, and became unresponsive.
