EPD: Dispute over bicycle leads to slashing

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Elmira Police Department is looking for a man that reportedly slashed the arm of another person after a dispute in the Weis Market parking lot.
According to police, officers were called out to the North Main Street business around 6:30 Tuesday night. Police say the person pictured was in a dispute with another person over a bicycle, and who owned it. The suspect pulled out a pocket knife and cut the arm of the victim before taking off on the bicycle. The suspect was last seen headed westbound on West Third Street.
Police believe the suspect owned the bicycle, and that the victim mistakenly thought the bicycle was his.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
