Counsel's Corner: Erie Co. restaurants sue over evening curfew

(WENY) -- Erie County is reportedly leading the state when it comes to COVID-19 litigation. Now, a new lawsuit involving more than 90 restaurants are suing the state over the 10:00 p.m. curfew (now extended to 11:00 p.m.).
After those restaurants were permitted to stay open until 4:00 a.m., many made plans gearing up for Valentine's Day weekend in an effort to recoup some cash-flow after months of struggle due to the pandemic restrictions.
However, recently, a judge overturned the restraining order which had allowed those restaurants to stay open. This means, they now have to go back to the 10:00 p.m. curfew.
In this week's edition of Counsel's Corner, Ziff Law Firm Attorney Adam Gee brings us up to speed on this case and talks about the next steps.
It is important to note, since this interview was recorded on Thursday afternoon, New York State extended that curfew for restaurants and bars to 11:00 p.m.
