Care facilities asking for larger share of Pennsylvania's coronavirus vaccines

(WENY) - The long-term care industry is asking Pennsylvania to provide them with more of the state's share of COVID-19 vaccines. This affects nursing homes, personal care homes and assisted living facilities. The industry says the Wolf Administration is not moving quickly enough to vaccinate the most vulnerable people in the state.
Representatives attended a state senate hearing on Thursday. They say the health department is giving them less then 20% of the state's weekly allotment to care facilities for older adults. Many desperate and vulnerable residents are forced to wait weeks and months to get vaccinated against the virus.
