Local restaurant gives out 700+ free meals to community
ELMIRA HEIGHTS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Cars were lined up around the block of an Elmira Heights business on Wednesday night for a free meal giveaway.
BC's Texas Hots Restaurant gave out free holiday meals, all in an effort to help those in need. The restaurant, which is located on Oakwood Ave, pre-made approximately 700 meals for take-out.
At one point, the restaurant had to help direct traffic to keep up with the number of cars that showed up.
Michael Woodard, owner of BC's Texas Hots Restaurant, said, "Right now is the best time to give back to our community. We're all struggling, COVID has put a damper on a lot of us. Now is the time to give nice hot fresh meals out to everybody that we can throughout our community."
Last month, BC's Texas Hots Restaurant gave out 500+ meals as part of a free Thanksgiving meal giveaway.
