Hornell High School moves to full remote amid rising positive COVID cases
HORNELL, N.Y. (WENY) -- Hornell High School is moving to full remote instruction following ongoing positive COVID-19 cases at the high school.
The district says the decision was made considering the frequency of symptomatic and asymptomatic COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past week. The decision to get full remote for high schoolers is effective immediately. The move affects students in grade 7-12, and it will remain in effect until January 4th.
The decision also affects all in-person clubs and activities on campus. The district says BOCES students who spend 100% of their time off campus, can continue their in-person instruction with BOCES. CTE programming for Hornell students will be fully remote, and the district says there is no option for in-person instruction until January 4th.
The district says elementary schools remain on hybrid scheduling.
