Before our warming trend takes over this week, we need to get through a bit of light snow for Wednesday morning. A warm front from Canada will approach the Twin Tiers late tonight, allowing light snow to develop before the morning commute and continue through most of the morning hours Wednesday. Snow will develop late tonight, around 3/4 am, towards the Finger Lakes and then meander its way towards the Southern Tier and eventually the Norther Tier. Snow may be heavy at times during the morning commute, limiting visibility. Temperatures will likely be below freezing during the morning commute, allowing snow to stick to area roadways and causing slippery spots. Make sure to give yourself extra time to hit the roads tomorrow morning with snow falling and sticking to area roadways. Snowfall accumulations will be between a coating to two inches through the morning hours Wednesday.

We will see a changeover for some in the afternoon to rain showers as warm air filters in and and highs peak near 40s for many. The heaviest of the snow will fall during the morning commute with lingering showers by the afternoon hours.
