Buffalo Police no longer required to display names on badges

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WENY) -- After a change in departmental rules, Buffalo Police officers are no longer required to display their names on their badges.
According to WKBW, they'll have to show their badge number instead.
Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown says the change was made about a week ago, due to ongoing concerns for officer safety. Officers have reportedly been subjected to online threats, targeting them and their families.
The move comes after months of protests for police reform in the City.
