Chemung Co. Health Department provides more details into fourth COVID-19 death

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) – The Chemung County Health Department has released more information regarding the fourth COVID-19 death in the county, which was first confirmed Wednesday.
County officials say the person was a 76-year-old man who died “as a result of a COVID-19 infection”; they add the man was not a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Horseheads but was a “contact to a member of the church”.
As WENY News has been reporting, a cluster connected to the Lighthouse Baptist Church was first reported September 8. Since then, dozens of cases in six counties have been linked back to the church.
The health department continues to remind everyone to wear masks in public, social distance and properly wash your hands.
