Sayre Theatre to reopen Thursday after more than five months closed

TOWANDA, Pa. (WENY) -- After more than five months of closure, the Sayre Theatre is set to reopen Thursday.
Originally scheduled to open on July 21, Christopher Nolan's action/thriller film TENENT will be the first screening.
Restrictions for movie theaters in Pennsylvania remain at 25 people per screen. Masks are required within the theater, and may be removed when seated in the auditorium during the movie.
According to a release, the theater opens at 7 p.m., with ticket prices set at $8.50 to help offset the cost of limited seating restrictions.
Bradford County Regional Arts Council (BCRAC) is the owner and operator of the county's three historic theaters, Sayre, Keystone, and Rialto Theatres. The council has remained active during the pandemic, holding Pop-Up Drive-Ins and Lawn Chair cinemas. as well as Curbside Popcorn events throughout the summer.
"We have been blessed with our partnerships with other organizations that have supported our operations, been reciprocal in keeping spirits up, and to have helped us weather this crisis as a community," BCRAC Executive Director Elaine Poost said. "Theatres are not intended to be empty places."
The Keystone and Rialto Theatres remain closed at this time.
