Covert, NY (WENY) -- The Seneca County Sheriffs Office has released the name of the victim involved in a deadly ATV crash in the Town of Covert.

Deputies say Robert Veeder was pronounced dead at the scene after his ATV collided with a vehicle.

Crews were dispatched around 4:15 PM Saturday to the intersection of Halls Corners Road and Arden Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving an all-terrain vehicle. Through their investigation deputies were able to determine that a vehicle being driven by Dakota Potenza was heading west on Halls Corners Road. Allegedly the ATV being driven by Veeder suddenly crossed into the path of the vehicle being driven by Potenza. They say Veeder failed to stop at the stop sign on Arden Road. 

Potenza was not hurt in the crash.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone who might have seen the crash to give them a call at (315)220-3240.

An investigation is underway following a deadly crash just miles outside of Interlaken. The crash involved a four wheeler and a teenager. 

The crash happened around 4:30 PM in the town of Covert. When our reporter arrived on scene they saw what appeared to be an SUV that collided with a four wheeler.

Investigators with the Seneca County Sheriff’s office are still working to determine exactly what caused the crash.

The victims names have not been released; pending notification to the family. 

A number of crews responded including New York State Police and area fire departments. 

We are told that the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office will have more information as their investigation continues.
