Midwestern school district to enforce dress code amid remote learning
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WENY) -- A school district in the Midwest is making headlines after a board of education decision to enforce dress code, even as students learn remotely.
In early August, the Springfield Public School District in Illinois decided students would not be allowed to wear hats, sunglasses, bandanas, or pajamas while learning from home.
"We don't need students in pajamas and all those other things while on their Zoom conferences," Springfield Public Schools Director of Student Support Jason Wind said.
According to WHAM, pediatrician Dr. Elizabeth Murray says it's all about routine.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says creating a structure for children is important in their social and emotional development.
