Long time Corning-Painted Post school superintendent is retiring

CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) – Long time Corning-Painted Post school superintendent Michael Ginalski is retiring. He will retire on the 30th after 13 years with the school district.
According to our media partner, the Star Gazette, Ginalski began his education career in 1987. He has been an administrator in Corning since 1999. In 2007, he accepted the position of the district's superintendent.
Ginalski took on the assignment at a time when the school district was in an upheaval. He was not sure if his career would survive or not amid controversies. The school district has had a long history of failed facility plans as well as two failed budget votes. School officials say he leaves a lasting legacy of excellence.
