ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - Members of the community are continuing to find ways to help others in need during the COVID-19 pandemic, as a group of co-workers have started a new t-shirt campaign called 'Quarantine 4 a Cause'.

Project Organizer, Jessica Norman and a group of her co-workers have partnered with Rainbow Lettering to help design t-shirts they can sell, where 100% of the proceeds are going to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. The shirts come in 2 different colors and designs; one in heathered charcoal with a mask on the front, and another in navy frost without a mask. On the back of the shirts reads the hashtag "#86,400", which represents the amount of seconds that are in one day, and this is a challenge to make each second count during the pandemic.

WENY News spoke with Jessica Norman about this campaign, and they have seen a significant amount of support in just the first week. "We just launched the campaign on Monday and we're just about to almost 100 shirts" said Norman. "Each shirt, which is $20, provides 30 meals to somebody in our community. So with the sale of 100 shirts within a week, that's 3,000 meals."

To order a shirt, Jessica has set up a PayPal account at https://paypal.me/quarantine4acause where you can mention the design you would like and the shirt size. The shirts will be available for pick-up when the pause and stay-at-home order has been lifted, or delivery options are available upon request.
