NYS DOCCS: 794 staff members, 211 inmates test positive for COVID-19

ALBANY, N.Y. (WENY) -- According to the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, 794 staff members have been diagnosed with COVID-19, along with 211 inmates.
One staff member and five inmates were confirmed to have died from COVID-19.
The state agency listed the number of confirmed cases for inmates -- broken down by facility.
As of April 19th, The Southport Correctional Facility has 7 cases, with 1 pending test. The Elmira Correctional Facility has 0 cases with 1 pending test.
