CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- A man was taken away in handcuffs on Monday afternoon, after police surrounded a home on Corning's Southside.

A portion of Chestnut Street was blocked off as more than a dozen cops surrounded one home on the 100 block.

In viewer video provided to WENY News, around 4:30 p.m., a man could be seen surrounded by plain clothes officers or agents. The viewer also said a short time after the man was taken away, the cops and plains clothes officers left the area.

A neighbor said before the man was handcuffed, the home was surrounded for hours.

WENY News reached out to Corning P.D., who appeared to have marked patrol cars blocking the area nearby, but they did not provide any information related to the incident. WENY News also reached out to a federal law enforcement agency who may have been on-scene, but no one was immediately available.

This is a developing story.
