(WENY) – With New York City being the epicenter of COVID-19 in the United States, hospitals are in dire need of help. Hospitals in the state are running low on ventilators. Oregon stepped up to help out New York state.

Now, Governor Cuomo is thanking the state for their help. New York received 140 ventilators from the state of Oregon.

Cuomo posted on social media saying how New York state is grateful for Oregon Governor Kate Brown and the people of Oregon. In a tweet, he goes onto say “on behalf of the people of New York, I thank you and rest assured that New York will repay the favor when Oregon needs it."

China is also helping New York. Between the help from China and Oregon, New York is expected to receive over 11,000 ventilators.
