Elmira man accused of shooting, killing dog during domestic incident
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- An Elmira man was arrested on Friday afternoon after allegedly shooting and killing a dog during a domestic incident.
According to the Elmira Police Department, 27-year-old Bryce M. Clark was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say officers were called to a home on the 300 block of West 1st Street at 12:50 Friday afternoon for reports of gun shots. Before officers arrived, they were told that a dog had been shot and killed during a domestic dispute. EPD says the caller was a 28-year-old woman who fled the home along with her 15-year-old daughter. Officers say they saw the suspect exiting the home, and then retreated back inside.
Police say the investigation revealed that the 28-year-old woman was being assaulted by the male, the daughter came to the aid of the woman, who was then punched in the face. Police say the suspect, Clark, pointed a handgun at both mother and daughter. Clark then shot and killed the family dog, which was a pitbull.
After the incident. police say they recovered two loaded handguns, multiple narcotic pills, cash, and more than 10 ounces of cocaine.
Elmira Police say Clark is also wanted on non-extraditable warrants out of the Moore County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina for multiple drug charges. More charges for Clark are also pending.
