Ithaca Police are investigating a traffic accident after responding to a report of a possible cardiac arrest

ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) – A traffic accident in Ithaca is under investigation. Ithaca Police were called to a report of a possible cardiac arrest on the 200 block of North Tioga Street just after 5:00 p.m. last night.
Once police arrived on scene, they found a car up against a light pole across the sidewalk at the intersection of North Tioga Street and East Buffalo Street. The car was locked. This led officer to break into the car to help the person. They found the car was still in drive. The driver was unconscious, unresponsive and not breathing.
Police say no one else appears to be involved in the incident. Officers secured the car without any further damage or anyone else getting hurt.
The driver was treated on the scene and revived before being brought to Cayuga Medical Center for treatment and evaluation. The investigation is active and ongoing.
