Corning building prepped for asbestos abatement ahead of demolition
CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- A building on Denison Parkway in Corning is being prepped to undergo asbestos abatement, as required by the state, before being demolished.
The facility is located next to the Dandy Mini Mart between Walnut Street and Pine Street. Drivers in the area may have noticed red tape and asbestos warning signs around the structure.
Code enforcement officials in the City of Corning confirm to WENY News, the property owner was granted a permit for demolition in October 2019. Public records show the owner is Randy Williams of Dandy Mini Marts, Williams Auto Group, and Williams Oil.
There are no set plans or proposals submitted at this time for any new kind of construction or project. Code enforcement officials say the demo permit is valid for up to one year.
WENY News reached out to Dandy Mini Mart public relations for more details about the site but have not yet received a response.
