Schuyler Co. Sherrif's Office helping past lieutenant injured in car crash
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WENY) -- Last Friday morning, Craig Gallow was on his way to Watkins Glen International for his job as the Security Director when he got into an accident. According to Schuyler County Sheriff, Bill Yessman, the road was icy and he slid off the road and hit a tree on County Route 17.
"He's in serious condition down in the Intensive Care Unit at Robert Packer Hospital," said Yessman. "He has a surgery today. He's already undergone two surgeries now. But everyday I hear of promising things coming on his condition."
Yessman says it'll take years for Gallow to recover from the accident. Gallow retired as a lieutenant from the sheriff's office after serving about 25 years. After two decades of service, the Schuyler County Deputy Sheriff's Association wants to give back to him.
"They've opened up a special bank account for Craig and his family at the Community Bank here in Watkins Glen," said Yessman. "People can drop off donations if they'd like to at the Sheriff's office at 106 10th Street in the Public Safety Building."
You can also drop donations at the bank by mentioning the "Deputy Sheriff's Association Craig Gallow Fund". There's also a GoFundMe set up online you can check out here.
