ELMIRA, N .Y. (WENY) – Thursday, Weis Markets celebrated the opening of its newest Gas N' Go fuel center at its store on North Main Street in Elmira.

The gas station features six pumps and will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The station is part of the series of remodeling the Weis Markets Elmira location has gone through the past year.

During the celebration, representatives with the store also presented a $500 check donation to the Elmira Animal Shelter.

“It's great to give back to the community because in the same sense, they're the ones that are supporting us day in and day out, so that's where we feel we need to give back into our own communities,” said store manager Dennis Simonds.

Founded in 1912, Weis Markets has 198 stores in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia and West Virginia.
