Corning Joint Fire District to hold ceremony for Fire Commissioners

CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) – The newly formed Corning joint Fire District will hold an Oath of Office and Swearing in Ceremony for its new fire commissioners on Wednesday.
Ryan Burrell, John Clarkson, David Schafer, Chet Tuttle and Brian Vandusen will be appointed by the town council to serve as Fire Commissioners.
Member organizations in the Corning Joint Fire District include the East Corning Fire Department, Inc., North Corning Fire Department, Inc. and the South Corning Fire Department. Formation of the Corning Joint Fire District serves to centralize the command structure, operating procedures and training for all emergency response activities performed by members of these three departments under one common organization structure.
The ceremony is happening at 7 p.m. At the Corning Town Hall located at 20 Maple Street in South Corning.
