Adoptable pet of the week at the Chemung County SPCA

Chemung County (WENY) – The pet of the week that is up for adoption at the Chemung County SPCA is "Paris."
Paris has been with the SPCA for about 2 months now. Matt Guagliardo, who is with the SPCA, says Paris would fit into a home where she has room to run around, since she is a playful cat. He goes onto say it is important for her to spend time with her owners, but also be independent and have room to explore.
On Saturday, the SPCA took in three dogs from Mississippi. Guagliardo says the SPCA has a great spay neuter culture, so they will work with southern states, who don't necessarily have a spay neuter culture like this area.
This facility is preparing to break ground on a new spay neuter clinic. The building is expected to break ground within the next two weeks. Guagliardo believes this new clinic will help “prevent the unwanted births of so many animals” and better assist pet owners who want their animals neutered.
A free rabies clinic is being offered at Chapel Park in Pine City on September 14th. The clinic will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All dogs, cats and ferrets are welcome.
