ABC News: Earnhardt Jr., family escape serious injury after plane crash

ELIZABETHTON, TN. (WENY) – Retired NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his family were able to avoid serious injury after a small plane crash in Tennessee, ABC News reports.
The plane, a Cessna Citation, reportedly rolled off the end of a runway after landing at Elizabethton Municipal Airport in Elizabethton, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
According to FAA officials, preliminary information showed three people were on board, but were not hurt.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is expected to investigate the crash.
Just two weekends ago, Earnhardt Jr. was at Watkins Glen International as a broadcaster for NASCAR weekend.
