Crews respond to fire on East Market Street in Corning

CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) – Portions of Market Street were closed down Monday as fire crews responded to a fire in Corning's Gaffer District.
The fire reportedly happened at 21 East Market Street.
According to the City of Corning Fire Chief Brad Davies, the fire first broke out in the building after 1:00 Monday afternoon. The fire was contained to the back of the three-story building in the basement and first floor.
Chief Davies tells WENY News there were no injuries and the damage is “minimal”.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
