STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- Three people are behind bars after police say a meth lab was found in a Painted Post home.

20-year-old Angel Jackson of Painted Post, 35-year-old Matthew Scotchmer of Dunee, and 21-year-old Erik Hoyt, also of Dunee, were all arrested last week following an investigation.

Police say the trio allegedly possessed over two ounces of methamphetamine while at Ms. Jackson’s home on East High Street in Painted Post. Deputies were dispatched to the residence to check the welfare check. During the subsequent investigation, police say they discovered an active methamphetamine production site.

Members of the New York State Police CCSERT (Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team) responded and assisted in the removal of the contaminated evidence.

Jackson, Scotchmer, and Hoyt were all charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a class A-2 Felony. They were arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail.
