ERWIN, N.Y. (WENY) -- A woman from Syracuse is behind bars in Steuben County after police say she stole roughly $6,000 worth of merchandise from a store.
The Steuben County Sheriff's Office says 50-year-old Tammy M.L. Hines was charged with two counts of grand larceny. Hines allegedly stole roughly $4,000 worth of merchandise from a business in the Town of Erwin on Saturday, and roughly $2,000 worth of goods on Sunday. The Sheriff's Office says she was confronted by store security and ran away. She was later found by deputies shortly after.
Hines was sent to jail without bail. The Sheriff's Office also says she's wanted in the City of Syracuse on outstanding warrants for burglary, criminal mischief and harassment.
