Corning Museum of Glass joins Netflix series "Blown Away"

CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Corning Museum of Glass (CMOG) has taken part in a Netflix competition series called "Blown Away". The series starts with 10 glassblowers, and through ten episodes they eliminate them down to one winner. Eric Meek, the manager of the hot glass programs at CMOG was a guest judge on the last episode. Also, six glass artists from the museum assisted the final two contestants. With this series, museum officials are excited to bring glass making to a whole new audience.
"Our mission really is to inspire people to see glass in new light," said Meek. " It's wonderful to have this global platform to do that on. We really think that 'Blown Away' on Netflix will bring glass to a whole lot of people who may not have seen it before and we're really excited about that."
CMOG will also be providing the prize package to the winner. The winner will be invited to be a part of the guest artist program at CMOG. "Blown Away" will be hitting Netflix worldwide later this year.
