WENY News, the ABC and CBS affiliate in Horseheads, NY has an immediate opening for an anchor/multi-media journalist. The right candidate should have a strong on-air presence, the ability to work with limited supervision, have solid news judgment and writing skills, and ability to handle pressure and last-minute changes. This is a multi-faceted role; in addition to having the creative control of producing and anchoring your own newscast, you'll also report as an MMJ other days. This is the perfect role for those who want to test their skills as a producer, and anchoring the show they created, and also get out in the field reporting as a multi-media journalist, engaging with the community. 

We are looking for the right person to join our award-winning energetic team and continue to grow our newscasts. As a member of our news team, you'll gain experience in many aspects of news coverage, from live opportunities, breaking news, to stories focused on important community matters. You'll also receive feedback and coaching focused on professional development from long-time industry veterans and leaders in news media. 

The right candidate will have strong organizational and time management skills, the ability to operate as a one-person band, and edit video when necessary. Prior producing experience is preferred. ENPS knowledge is a bonus, but not required.

WENY also prides itself on its social media presence, and incorporating that into shows to grow audiences on both TV and digital platforms.

WENY-TV is located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. Just a few hours drive from many major cities (NYC, Buffalo, Syracuse, Toronto, Philadelphia), it's surrounded by nature full of natural waterfalls, hiking trails, wineries, and small but thriving communities.
