HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) - His Tabernacle Family Church held their annual Easter Weekend Celebration. 

The event was held outside the Church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. The entire community was invited to attend the celebration free of charge. 

"We are having our annual Easter Egg Hunt with lots and lots of people gathered here today. It is a blessing to our community, to connect and make a spirit of unity," said Rhonda Spencer, Senior Pastor of His Tabernacle Family Church.

 "I think last year when we did a helicopter drop, but we have been doing an egg search for years. Doing these large events is whats bringing in thousands of people," said Michael Spencer, Senior Pastor of His Tabernacle Family Church. 

This year, the event featured their first ever, Giant Egg Drop. The giant Easter Egg was filled with 1,000 eggs and was dropped from 75 feet up in the air. The event also featured, 15,000 goodie-filled eggs, the Easter Bunny, face painting and bounces houses.  

Thousands of people attend the event this year, celebrating their 18th year anniversary. 

"There's a bunch of great people here, they have a great pastor and we reach out to the community," said Michael Wheeler, a member of His Tabernacle Family Church. 

The event will also be held on Easter Sunday and is opened to the public. A service will be held at 11 a.m. following a petting zoo with donkey rides for children.
