The National Weather Service has upgraded the originally issued Wind Chill Watch to a Wind Chill Warning for Chemung, Tioga NY, Steuben, Yates, Tompkins, Schuyler, Bradford, Potter and Tioga PA Counties (shaded in pink) from 10PM Thursday night until Saturday evening/Sunday Morning due to dangerously cold wind chill especially through Friday night into Saturday morning. Highs alone are only going to make it into the single digits Friday and Saturday, with wind chill on top of it real feel temperatures will be very uncomfortable. Expect wind chills to range from 10 to 30+ degrees below zero at times due to gusty winds and arctic air settled in over the northeast. 

Important: Be sure to limit your time outside over this time period. If you must go out, be sure to layer up, the more the better. Do not underestimate the cold weather and wind chill! Frostbite will be able to occur now in about 10 minutes to exposed areas of skin. Also freezing of vulnerable exposed pipes/plumbing is possible if not properly protected. 

For Chemung, Steuben, Tioga NY, Yates, Tompkins, Schuyler, Bradford PA counties, Warning will run from 10 PM tonight until 7AM Sunday morning. 

For Potter and Tioga PA Counties, Warning will run from 10 PM tonight until 6PM Saturday evening.
