Horseheads, N.Y. (WENY)-- Bon-Ton has officially opened it's new location in the Arnot Mall.

Bon-Ton moved to a bigger location in the Arnot Mall, where the Macy's used to be. The store completed the move ten days go, but held it's official opening ceremony Thursday morning. The celebration included opening remarks from the store manager, Bon-Ton corporate officials, the Arnot Mall manager, and Chemung County Executive Tom Santulli. Store Manager John McAllister says Bon-Ton is committed to serving the Twin Tiers community.

"We try to bring in local vendors so you'll see if you look over in the home store you'll see there's things from Vitrix Glass in Corning that we're selling now, we've got vendors from all over Upstate New York so we're really trying to get the local businesses going and show community support," McAllister explains.

The first 500 customers through the door Wednesday received a special gift. Bon-Ton also used the ceremony to kick off the Goodwill Sale with a Stuff the Truck event. Customers who brought in gently used clothing for donation received coupons to use in the store.
