Elmira girls basketball advanced to the Josh Palmer Fund Holiday Classic Semifinals with a 54-43 win over North Rockland on Friday night. Mariah Matias led the Express with 23 points. Elmira will play Bishop Kearney on Sunday at 6:45 pm.

The Troy girls basketball team fell to Bishop Kearney, 71-47 in the Josh Palmer Fund Holiday Classic National Bracket First Round on Friday. The Troajsn will look to bounce back on Sunday.

The Towanda girls basketball team fell to St. Mary's, 75-28 in the Josh Palmer Fund Holiday Classic Regional Semifinals on Friday. The Black Knights will face Johnson City in the consolation on Sunday at 11:15 AM at Ernie Davis Academy.

Waverly girls basketball stays unbeaten with win over Athens in Valley Christmas Tournament, 42-30. The Wolverines look to take on Norwich in the championship at 6 P.M. on Saturday at Sayre Area HS.

Waverly boys basketball takes down Athens in Valley Christmas Tournament semifinals, 48-36. The Wolverines are set to take on Sayre in the championship on Saturday at 8 P.M.

Sayre boys basketball beat Tioga, 72-56 on Thursday night to advance to the Valley Christmas Tournament Championship where they will host Waverly on Saturday at 8 PM.

Odessa-Montour girls basketball fell to Groton, 53-49 on Friday night. Leah Antes led the Grizzlies with 23 points while Evvie Zinger added 21.

Elmira Aviators take OT win over Northeast Generals, 4-3. The Aviators aim to complete the weekend sweep tomorrow night as they face off against the Generals again at 7 P.M.
