HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) --The Horseheads Fire Department's Annual Santa Sightings Tour is returning to spread some holiday cheer.
The tour will run for four days total, starting at 6 p.m. each evening. From December 17th to the 20th, Santa, the Grinch, and a host of lit up antique fire trucks will take to the streets of the Village of Horseheads. Village officials suggest to stand at the end of your driveway or at the nearest intersection to see Santa.
"We started on this the year of Covid, because Santa Claus wasn't going around. There was no Santa Claus at the mall, nobody was doing it. So we decided to put Santa on an antique truck, a 1953 American La France, and drive around the village. It has grown tremendously the past couple of years. This is our fifth year doing it, and every year it gets bigger and bigger and we have more fun every year," said Assistant Chief Richard Skebey from the Horseheads Fire Department.
