ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Elmira Police Department is kicking off their annual holiday donation drive on December 1st, and they're donating to the Elmira Animal Shelter this year.

For the entire month of December, EPD is looking to collect dog and cat food, laundry detergent, toys, and general animal supplies for the shelter.  Donations can be taken to the Record Bureau at 312 Lake Street, or to the third floor of City Hall.

EPD says they are doing this in memory of Yolanda Lopez, a beloved City of Elmira employee who served for 44 years and had a huge heart for animals.
