Illusionist Jason Bishop Prepares to Wow His Audience at the Clemens Center

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY)-- World-renowned magician and illusionist Jason Bishop is getting ready to bring his talents to Elmira's Clemens Center on Saturday, November 16th. Bishop is known for his appearances on Broadway and national television.

Bishop has amazed audiences across the globe with his innovative illusions and one-of-a-kind tricks.

"We're hoping to do our fog ball illusion," shares Bishop. "That's where there's just a ball of fog that floats around the stage and disappears and we're kind of known for that in the magic community. It's unusual, but it's some very visual effects as well with regular objects."

Bishop's performance is described as a blend of traditional magic and cutting-edge technology. Showcasing everything from sleight-of-hand-close-ups to large-scale illusions. For his shows, he uses big screens to project complex tricks so that even the smallest details are visible to everyone in the audience.

"Almost all of our shows, including the one at the Clemens Center, incorporate close-up magic. We use really good cameras and project that onto big screens. My assistant Kim will disappear and reappear. She'll be sliced with swords and shrunk down into a little tiny box. We have a dog in the show, Gizmo, and he disappears and reappears. {When} he comes on stage people love him," says Bishop.

Bishop's shows don't rely only on magic, they also include audience participation and comedy. The illusionist described the performance as a mix of fun and many unpredictable moments.

"There's a full mix of, and then there's audience participation and comedy as well, which people really love and enjoy how funny I am on stage," shared Bishop.

Bishop will take the Clemens Center stage on Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for audience members 18 and younger. Details about his one performance in the Southern Tier can be found by clicking here

The Clemens Center is located at 207 Clemens Center Pkwy, Elmira, NY 14901.
