LANSING, N.Y. (WENY) -- A Pennsylvania woman is charged with multiple felonies after allegedly stealing from businesses in multiple counties, and trying to flee police when confronted by hitting one officer with an alleged stolen vehicle.
According to the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office, 29-year-old Victoria Rose, who is from Pennsylvania, and Robert Snyder, a 25-year-old man from Lansing are suspects involved in a multi-county burglary spree. Law enforcement encountered the pair outside a business on N. Triphammer Road in Lansing on Saturday around 11 a.m. after learning they were allegedly attempting more thefts.
Law enforcement say they saw Rose ducking between vehicles in the parking lot outside the business she allegedly was stealing from. She then got into a car that wasn't hers, using keys she allegedly stole from inside the business. When officers approached the car, Rose quickly backed up and hit a deputy, knocking them to the ground. She continued to reverse, hit another parked car and sped off.
Officers found Rose running from the stolen car parked in a parking lot further up the road. A Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputy caught up with her, and was hit in the head by Rose multiple times while they were trying to arrest her.
Rose is charged with Attempted Assault upon a Police Officer, Attempted Assault, four counts of Grand Larceny, Attempted Grand Larceny, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, and Obstructing Governmental Administration. She was also issued several traffic tickets.
Rose is in the Tompkins County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $90,000 bond.
The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office said Snyder was found standing outside the business and was arrested without incident. He is charged with multiple counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. Snyder was released with appearance tickets.
Law enforcement say they are still investigating other unsolved threats, and whether this pair are connected to them.
