EPD: man arrested for sexual abuse charges in Elmira

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Elmira Police Department says they arrested a man after he allegedly assaulted several people on Saturday night.

Police say they were called to the Center Town parking garage around 6:30 p.m. on November 9th for a report of an assault.  Shortly after, police say several similar reports came in of the same subject assaulting other people.  After that, the man made his way to an establishment on West Water Street where he allegedly sexually abused a woman.

The victim sought medical attention, and officers were able to identify and locate the suspect.

After an investigation, police arrested Michael J. Valderrama.  He was charged with sexual abuse in the 1st degree, a class D Felony.
