Shooting between neighbors seriously injures one in Bradford County

OVERTON TOWNSHIP, PA. (WENY) -- An argument between neighbors in Overton Township, Pennsylvania lead to a shootout in the street, sending one person to the hospital in serious condition.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Isaiah Covert, a 25-year-old New Albany man, was arguing with an unidentified 75-year-old man in front of their homes on Morris Rd. The dispute escalated, and the 75-year-old fired two shots from his pistol. Covert then took out a gun and fired it multiple times, hitting the 75-year-old in the stomach and arm.

The 75-year-old was taken to Robert Packer Hospital in serious condition.

Covert is charged with Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently in the Bradford County Correctional Facility. Covert was denied bail.

The shooting happened Wednesday around 11 a.m., according to police.
