Driver Found Deceased in Submerged Car

HORSEHEADS, NY (WENY) -- New York State Police are investigating a situation in Horseheads that led to the discovery of a body over the weekend.

New York State Police say they responded to a reported burglary at a home at 235 Prospect Hill Road, just after 10 P.M. on Saturday, October 19. On scene, troopers said the home's garage door was open with several damaged items inside, and a vehicle in the driveway looked like it had been sideswiped.

According to police, there were tire tracks going across the lawn, toward a pond on the property. Troopers then discovered a white Subaru submerged in the water, with the driver dead inside.

The driver was identified as William Olin, 84, of Beaver Dams. 

Police say they are still investigating the circumstances that led up to the death.
